Overview
TestOrbit ("we", "us") operates testorbit.dev, a collection of free browser-based tools for software testers and developers. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Tool data stays in your browser
The tools on TestOrbit (JSON formatting, JWT decoding, regex testing, and others) process the text you paste entirely in your browser. We do not upload, store, or transmit your pasted inputs or tool outputs to our servers for processing.
Do not paste secrets, production credentials, or personal data you are not allowed to handle. Even though processing is local, follow your organization's security policies.
Information we may collect automatically
When you visit the site, standard web logs and analytics may record:
- IP address and approximate location (country/region)
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, referring URL, and timestamps
- Cookie identifiers used for advertising or analytics
This data helps us understand traffic, keep the site reliable, and (where enabled) display advertisements.
Cookies and advertising
TestOrbit may display third-party advertisements provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Learn how Google uses data at Google's partner sites policy.
- For EU/UK visitors, you may also visit Your Online Choices.
Optional accounts
You can use every tool without creating an account. If you choose to register, we store your name, email address, and either a password hash or a Google account identifier so you can sign back in. We do not store the plaintext password. Account data lives in our database (MongoDB Atlas) and is used only to authenticate you.
Signing in with Google shares your Google name, email, and profile image with TestOrbit as permitted by Google's OAuth consent screen. You can sign out at any time from the header.
How we use information
- Create and authenticate optional accounts
- Operate and improve TestOrbit
- Monitor performance, abuse, and security
- Display and measure advertisements (where enabled)
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
We may use hosting, analytics, advertising, authentication, and database providers. Those services process data under their own privacy policies. Links to external sites are not covered by this policy.
Children
TestOrbit is intended for professional developers and testers. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
