What is a JSON formatter?
A JSON formatter (or JSON beautifier) takes compact or messy JSON and prints it with indentation so you can read keys, arrays, and nested objects. TestOrbit also validates the JSON and can minify it back to a single line.
Is this JSON formatter free, and do I have to upload my data?
Yes, it is free. Formatting happens in your browser. The JSON you paste is not sent to TestOrbit servers, so it is suitable for test payloads you would rather not upload to a third-party site.
Can I validate JSON and copy a path from the tree?
Yes. Invalid JSON shows a parse error. Valid JSON can be inspected in a tree view, minified, and you can copy a JSONPath from a node to use in assertions or API tests.
How do I share formatted JSON with another tester?
Use Share this tool or Copy URL. The page link stores the current snippet in the hash so a teammate opens the same JSON without an attachment.
